From learning to drift on Assetto Corsa to hitting my first drift events in real life, this channel follows my journey from sim to the real thing. In 2022 I decided to make the jump and purchased a 2007 Nissan 350z. The transition from sim to the real thing was surprisingly easy and within a few laps I was able to start drifting the full track. The drift community has been great and I'd very much like to pay it forward and help anyone else looking to get into drifting for the first time.

I post a wide range of educational content, including:
- Tips to start learning how to drift
- Recommendations for buying a building a drift car
- What to expect when you switch to the real thing

I also post content following my experiences drifting in real life, including:
- My experiences getting into real drifting for the first time
- What I'm learning at each event
- Maybe some track, tire, part, and chassis ratings
- And so on

If any of that sounds interesting, please consider subscribing!

Alright folks... Every Thursday night I'm on the Janky Drift server usually with a few other folks catching some tandems while we talk trash on the voice channel. This week, I decided that I'm going to try and record to see if I can put together a "podcast" style episode or just another "Rando Tando" live session.

-Want to run some tandems?
-Want to "meet" me?
-Want to ask questions?
-Want to shoot the ish?
-Just want to be creepy and listen in?

Here's your chance, literally anyone is allowed to join and chime in. Server details and voice channel in the discord:

What's up folks, hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their summer. After being the 3rd or 4th black Z at every event, I decided it was time to change the look of the car and do a simple livery. I want to eventually get a full custom wrap done at some point, but this was basically free minus my time and about $20 in materials vs $3K+ for an actual wrap, so I can't complain.

I don't know about you all, but my summer is flying by. Been doing around 2-3 events per month which has been a bit rough on both my sanity and wallet, but I've had great times and met a bunch of awesome people along the way. Don't know where this YouTube journey is going to take me long-term, but we're pacing towards 5K subs and I appreciate everyone who has subbed, commented, liked and so on to help me grow the channel (even that guy who told me to jump in front of a moving car lol).

If there is anything you'd like to see from me, or anything you'd like me to cover over the next few months, drop it in the comments below and I'll do my best. Planning to dig more into the sim stuff again over the winter but for now I'm having too much fun shredding IRL.

Anyways... That's all for now - Have a good one!

Question of the day... How many of you folks drift in real life? If you've got plans to start drifting IRL, would love to hear about your car.

Tonight I'll be on the Janky Drift Assetto server from around 8-9PM (eastern standard time) if anyone wants to jump on and drift with me. All skill levels welcome, going to try and be on voice chat as well but we'll see how that goes lol. It's going to be DWG cars on Englishtown, and more details can be found on my discord server (discord.gg/Dk93s9hwfS).

Also posting a couple of clips on discord from my first IRL trip to Englishtown as soon as YouTube decides to finish processing (they're going to be unlisted on the channel, so only way to watch them is through discord).

Hope everyone's week is going well, new video coming soon!

So it's almost time for drift pack review round 2, which unintentionally rhymes and I'm running with it. I'd love to get some feedback from you folks on how you'd rate the following packs either in terms of realism, or just best packs overall.

List below is Alphabetical, and would ideally love to see the responses ranked 1-13, but I'll take what I can get. Most of my rankings are locked in, but I'm on the fence about a few in the middle, so here's your chance to sway my opinion.

Even open to new suggestions, as long as they're grassroots/low HP style.

1:1 Simulation
ADC 420
Aiden's S13
BDC Street ***the 2023 update
DWG
Excite ***2023 update (Also arch?)

This year was a crazy one... I flew 500 miles to buy a 350z and drove it 9 hours back home with a failing clutch, only for it to give out 10 minutes away from my house. From there, I pulled the dubs off and turned it into a drift car to see just how much sim drifting translates to real life. I'm happy to say... it translates pretty damn well.

From the beginning, my goal was to document the journey and start a YouTube channel for anyone interested in either making the same jump, or just interested in drifting overall. Going a bit stir crazy and running out of footage with the local drift season coming to an end, but planning to keep putting videos out every few weeks.

Janky Drift just rolled over 1,500 subs, so just wanted to say thanks again to all that have subscribed, liked, and commented. If you like the channel, please consider sharing some of my videos with friends and other people or communities you think might enjoy it. It would really mean a lot.

None the less, happy holidays to everyone who celebrated something over the last few weeks... and have a Janky New Year (I'm sorry lol).
