This is the Official Chan of London Elektricity, real name Tony Colman. I founded Tongue and Groove in 1990 in my bedroom in Tottenham. I met Chris Goss who I hired as a freelance graphic designer. I made Acid Jazz as IZIT. When Acid Jazz became a dirty word, Chris and I experimented (badly) with trip hop. Then, as we were in the heart of Tottenham, I wanted to make jungle/rave/d&b but it wasn't working. We moved Tongue and Groove into the old Rooster 2 studios in Barons Court, and Izit got a big deal in Japan that gave us actual real money. That deal enabled us to stay at Barons Court for a while, and then we lucked out and bought the lease on the studio. We spent 2 years experimenting with what we called Loungecore with Oscar Wilson. We settled on the name Hospital, and Harp of Gold was released as NHS1. Flight of the vulture came next as NHS2. Chris then fell out with Oscar, so there were just two of us but we battled on until XMAS 1996 when I made Song In The Key Of Knife.
