Update on Linc

🙌🏼He stopped needing oxygen at 11pm last night.
🙌🏼He is showing a few signs of withdrawal, but not enough to need treatment currently!
🙌🏼 The x-ray this morning looked better than yesterday
🙌🏼 The tube in his other nostril to pump air out of his stomach was also removed yesterday
🙌🏼 He is now on Tylenol as needed
He’s going to have feeds start again soon and hopefully a swallow study done tomorrow to check for any mechanical issues while eating.

Things are really looking up ☀️

Update on Linc

He has a pocket of fluid in his chest cavity that won’t drain. They tried to fill the cavity with a medication that would help drain it, but so far it has been unsuccessful so they might need to adjust the tube he has in the morning or put in a new one. So that’s a whole new procedure.

He keeps trying to wake up even though he is sedated, he even got his hand out of his restraint and tried to pull his breathing tube out yesterday.. Daddy caught him just in time. The doctors and nurses are all amazed at how much of a fighter he is.
Unfortunately they keep having to up his pain meds and sedative to calm him down which means he will have a harder time coming off of them.

They will also need to put him on a blood thinner eventually to help break up the clot from the last picc line because it has not dissolved on it’s own.

Ways to pray for all of this:
Pray that overnight the pocket of fluid in his chest cavity will drain on its own.
Pray that the clot from the picc line will go away on its own.
Pray that Linc will stay calm so his body can rest.
Continue to pray for strength for myself, Stefano, Luxi, and Lincs Grandparents.

Lincoln has now been in the PICU for 5 days.
I would just really appreciate some prayers for him and myself.

This has been absolutely the worst thing I’ve had to deal with in my life and I’m trying so hard to be strong but 5 hours of sleep in 5 days… watching my newborn baby struggle, not being able to nurse him, having multiple people run in and out of the room constantly, not being able to see or be with my 4 year old daughter, not being able to control anything around me has been incredibly difficult.

Please hold your babies close, listen to your instincts always, and don’t let anyone guilt you about how you protect your babies.

My son has been diagnosed with MSSA which is a form of staph that lives on everyone’s skin.. Most people have immunity to it but since he doesn’t have a good immune system yet it has been life threatening to him.

He started making grunting sounds that I thought were gas so I did all of the things to help with that, gas drops, gripe water, belly massages, warm baths, using the windi.. etc etc. Later that night he was inconsolable and I decided to take him to children’s ER. I never imagined we would have been admitted. Or that any of this could happen. It’s been a never ending nightmare. It took 4 days for them to find what was wrong and that took multiple ultrasounds, labs, X-rays, ct scans, spinal taps, a picc line, 4 different antibiotics and more to get there.

I brought him in at the right time because shortly after we were admitted he started developing a ton of other symptoms. Always listen to your Mama instincts.

Please pray for him. ❤️

Favorite car must have from my video today!

There are cheaper options on amazon, but after reading so many reviews I’m glad I went with this one.

I use it a most daily for chores around the house or for unloading the car. I have it in pink, but I plan on purchasing another one soon so I can have one in the house. They come in so handy!
