Hello friends, my name is J.J. and I do culture videos.
I love learning about the culture that defines my life, and the lives of people in other places. I think we all need to live life with the right mix of skepticism and gratitude, and not take things too seriously. This is the attitude I try to bring to my videos, I hope you enjoy them! And I hope you help me learn stuff about where you're from!

Unfortunately I am no longer accepting mail from fans. I just get too much of it and my apartment is too small to store it all. To email me about something else, here's the address: jjmccullough@gmail.com

The holidays have been thrown my update schedule out of whack. I posted this video on Thursday in case you missed it! Hopefully everything will be back to normal by next weekend!

If I was to make a video on one specific decade of American culture, which one do you think you would most like to see?

A lot happened in Canadian politics yesterday! Me and my buddy Tim Miller break it down. Check it out in my first-ever The Bulwark appearance!

I'm moving my Trump livestream to unlisted, not because I am ASHAMED of it or anything, but just because it's a different sort of video from what I usually make, it was time-sensitive, and I don't want my "recents" to have too much back-to-back political stuff. If you would like to watch it, here is the link, and I will also put the link in the description of my "What Trump did" video. In the comments, please do your best impression of what a condescending Trump supporter who thinks I have "TDS" would say in response to this community post.

In the aftermath of the presidential election, there has been a lot of talk about the role played by online media and online influencers in shaping perceptions of America, especially in the eyes of the youth. I’ve been having chats with some of my YouTuber buddies about this, and I find a lot of them do feel a sense of obligation and responsibility to promote healthy, positive worldviews in their audiences. I was curious if you guys have any strong opinions on this topic, and what influencers like me (and others) could or should be doing more of to help build and strengthen a resilient democratic culture on this continent.

Just FYI not gonna make a video this week because of the election. Normally I film on Tuesday night, and tonight I’m going to be doing… other things.

I made a video yesterday all about how Trump has fundamentally changed American politics. Some people were very triggered by it. Have you seen it yet? With only two days before the election, it's my final thoughts on the state of American politics.

Let me be clear about something because I still get questions about this. I do not support Donald Trump. I hope he loses the election. I hope everyone votes for Kamala Harris.
For me, this is not a right vs. left, conservative vs. progressive thing. It’s right vs. wrong. Trump is very obviously unfit for office and is head of a dangerous movement that has given power and influence to some of the most deranged forces and individuals in American culture.
I’ll probably make a full video discussing this in more detail before election day because I think it matters. I love America and want America to thrive and succeed, while Trump’s agenda is entirely about maximizing his own power and glory—America be damned.

What should be the next category of thing I explore in an "American cultural canon" video?
