Enka/folk song singer from Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture. His father is Gangetsu Fukuda, a folk song singer. He began singing folk songs in earnest at the age of 23, winning numerous competitions, including the Grand Prix at the 25th Japan Folk Song Festival in June 2012. Despite that he had a job at a kimono store, he left his job and made his debut with "Namnbu Semishigure" from King Records in October 2012. The song reached No.1 on the Oricon Enka chart, and also reached No.8 on the overall chart. In 2013, he participated the 64th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen for the first time and won the New Artist Award at the 55th Japan Record Awards. In 2020, he won the Best Singing Award at the 62nd Japan Record Awards.
