"We’re beyond excited to share our long-awaited publication on a groundbreaking surgery that offers life-altering care for children with brachial plexus injuries—many of whom were never treated as infants. Despite the common belief that ‘90% get better with therapy,’ the reality is many continue to face disability into adulthood. Our innovative technique provides a real solution, restoring motion and improving quality of life for so many." - Dr. Steven Koehler

This is a common question parents often ask us when children come in to see us for broken bones. We studied vitamin D levels in patients in our ER with fractures and without fractures. While 80% of all patients in the study had low vitamin D, there was no difference in vitamin D levels between patients with and without fractures. However, this is the first study to find that patients with lower body fractures had even lower vitamin D levels than patients with upper body fractures.

Dr.’s Mani Kahn and Eli Kamara traveled to Washington, DC to discuss important patient issues with offices of our NY representatives. They advocated for critical issues in advancing musculoskeletal care and improving healthcare access for our most vulnerable patients. Advocacy is an important aspect of caring for patients and Dr. Kahn & Dr. Kamara have learned it does make a difference!
