Eddie Palmieri - Vámonos Pa'l Monte (Visualizador Oficial)

Listen to the newly remastered Vámonos Pa'l Monte album: found.ee/eddie-palmieri-vamonos-pivot Vámonos Pa’l Monte was released in 1971 on Tico Records, by acclaimed pianist, composer, arranger, producer and band leader Eddie Palmieri. He is considered one of the most important Latin pianists in music history, and the architect of progressive salsa music. Palmieri is known for stretching boundaries and combining various musical styles and instrumentation on his recordings and Vámonos Pa’l Monte is no exception. His addition of baritone sax, organ, trap drums and electric piano gave this recording a striking sound. The title track, translates to Let’s go to the mountains, is an all-time Latin classic about getting away from the injustices of the world and negativity, and enjoying spending time and partying there. Eddie’s older brother Charlie plays organ on this track, bringing them together, piano and organ in an electric musical conversation between the two. The opening track “Revolt/La Libertad Lógico” is another outstanding track which proclaims that freedom/liberty is the logical answer and dares anyone to take it away. It’s a fast and powerful song with an aggressive percussive force. “Comparsa De Los Locos” you’re taken to a more Afro-Cuban sound, with a fast syncopated cowbell beat that rides through the song, in the fast-moving carnaval style. This album’s six tracks cover a range of styles from Afro-Cuban, Latin jazz, salsa, descarga, boogaloo, charanga and guaguancó. It’s quite a ride worth taking. #eddiepalmieri #vamonospalmonte *Sígue/Follow Fania Records* Facebook: found.ee/faniarecordsFB Instagram: found.ee/faniarecordsIG YouTube: found.ee/faniarecordsYT Twitter (X): found.ee/faniarecordsTwitter TikTok: found.ee/faniarecordsTikTok Join the Fania Newsletter: found.ee/fania-subscribe-newsletter-lat
