These are videos designed to help independent and motivated learners engage in self-directed study of texts, thinkers, and topics in philosophy. They include videos on specific philosophers or schools that discuss what texts to focus upon, central ideas and motivations of the thinker or school, what matters to keep in mind, and what problems a beginner doesn't need to focus upon.
I also include several videos from my Introduction to Philosophy classes, which may be useful for beginners and intermediate students alike. There are also "Quick Takes" videos which address common concerns, problems, mistakes, and misconceptions that can get in the way of productively studying philosophy.
