Monday Night Freestyles

Monday Night Freestyles originally began during the 2011-2012 football season when Jung Youth teamed up with his colleagues Central Parks and Opie Music for beats and recording/mixing, respectively. Parks is a hip hop producer signed to Los Angeles’ Cold Busted Records, and Opie is an Addy Award-winning composer with credits like Coca-Cola to his name. After taking last year off to focus on Jung Youth’s debut EP, the crew is back in full effect. In order to show viewers how organic and spontaneous the experience truly is, this season Jung and the MNF team have partnered with FOCO Creative and Michael Beatty to provide a visual component. “It is our goal to watch the first half, record a one-take freestyle complete with predictions and relevant player information from the game and Twitter users, mix the audio, and put it out on video before the clock runs out. Hopefully we can get to the point of taking the show on location to tailgates and the games themselves, because really it’s just all about coming together. And since we’re doing this for the love, for free, why not share an idea like this with the world?”, says Jung.
