Cities hold a central place in the fabric of our nation. They are indispensable centers of innovation, economic growth and social stability. Yet cities must address significant challenges across multiple fronts: the economy, healthcare, technology, education, criminal and social justice, arts and culture, housing, immigration, and climate change. Through a series of thoughtful conversations and robust panel discussions, American Cities Rebuilding 2021 examined these challenges and explored the bold steps required to redesign and redevelop our urban centers. Panelists included thought leaders, city, state and federal leadership, prominent corporate and foundation executives, and lauded authors. American Cities Rebuilding is part of The WNET Group’s ongoing community engagement and live journalism efforts to convene and converse on critical topics.
