Inspired by letters he read after buying a 150-year old farmhouse, Writer/Director Rory Feek, penned the story of Josephine, a civil war soldier's wife who enlists in the army and fights her way across the country to find her missing husband. The letters, from the 1800’s, were between a young Maury County TN soldier named John Robison and his wife Josephine. Rory was moved by their story and realized he wanted a love like that of his own.
