This online event series focuses on the topic “Pandemic and Economics” and consists of four livestreams where economists present and discuss current findings from their research areas.
The Department of Economics at the University of Zurich plays a leading role in the academic world. Our motto is “Pioneering Economics”. With our forward-thinking attitude and multidisciplinary approach, we have entered uncharted territory. Our ambition is to find answers to the most pressing questions of our time and to offer direction to students, to leaders, and to policy makers alike.
At the Department, we encourage our researchers to approach their research projects fearlessly, openly – with ambition and curiosity. It is our belief that this is the way to achieve groundbreaking results, which can help change the world for the better.
As Covid-19 continues to hold a tight grip on the world, experts from a wide range of disciplines are studying the pandemic and its impact on our lives. To grasp the economic dimension of the crisis, various studies have been underway at the University of Zurich’s Department of Economics since the outbreak of Covid-19. What is the economic damage, how can it be repaired, and what awaits us in the coming years: recession or a structural change? This is where the online event series “Pandemic and Economics” comes in, with four experts presenting and discussing current findings from their research areas.
