Greenland 2012 - Scott Expedition Training

Greenland is, by area, the world's largest island, yet with a population of under 60,000, it is the least densely populated dependency or country in the world. It has very similar conditions to Antarctica making it a perfect training ground for polar expeditions. In May 2012, Ben Saunders, Martin Hartley and Alastair Humphreys spent 14 days in Greenland on a training expedition as part of preparation for the Scott Expedition - an 1800 mile, unsupported return journey from the coast of Antarctica to the South Pole on foot retracing Captain Scott's footsteps that Ben is currently planning. Preparation for an expedition as challenging as the Scott Expedition is many years in the planning - Ben didn't depart last year as expected (suggested in this set of videos). His preparation continues in 2013...2013.scottexpedition.com/blog/patience. Subscribe to the Scott Expedition channel or visit www.scottexpedition.com to follow Ben and Tarka's journey.
