Rimarimba was the project of Robert Cox, based in Felixstowe, on the seaside in Suffolk, UK. Heads for UK DIY music in the early 80s may have stumbled upon Rima’s releases in the thicket of that weirdness / wildness, sandwiched between the post-punks and the minimalists. But before there was Rimarimba, Cox assembled a cast of friends, some musicians and some not so much, for an experiment in group exploration and ecstatic expression under the name The Same.
