CMC Ireland produced a series of six performance videos to coincide with the release of Larissa O'Grady's début album 'Six Works for Violin'. The album which is released by Farpoint recordings, features a collection of six extraordinary new commissions by CMC composers David Bremner, Robert Coleman, Jenn Kirby, Fiona Linnane, Anselm McDonnell and Judith Ring. Each piece was written for, and in collaboration with, Larissa O'Grady, featuring a wide range of presentations from spoken word to sensor-led playback, live and fixed electronics, microtonal writing and live field recordist techniques. The 'Six New Works For Violin' project came into existence as part of the CMC's Contemporary Artists Network (also known as CMC Connects), an initiative which supports New Music collaborations.
