The Rotman 2016 Annual Conference: Rethinking the Taxonomy of Psychology. Psychological investigations have been traditionally used to enhance our understanding of the brain. However, recent work in neuroscience appears to challenge the conceptual foundations of psychology: it is now possible to generate empirical constructs based on neuroimaging data that predict brain activity better than current psychological constructs. Given that psychological concepts intimately shape how we understand ourselves, what will the impact of these new developments be? How might they change our conceptions of the relationship between mind and brain? Participants investigated these questions, and many others.
