Part of the Cruise Power longboard project. Wide Slides are skateboard stand up slides done on a large, heavy longboard, with street wheels of fairly hard durometer. This one is a Gravity 54" Classic, about 12 pounds, with 90 duro large wheels. It is possible to slide as with a medium length street longboard, but it's much harder to do and takes good slide technique, as well as some speed. It is a challenge, just plain fun, and a great surf cross training tool, because it feels like turning a longboard, or mid size surf board. Wide slides are done with a wide stance which takes up most of the board and leaves little room for walking. In the next part of this project, Slide Walks, slides are done in a narrow stance in connection with walking and other footwork.
