The Youngsters is een initiatief van KidsRights. De doelstelling van KidsRights is het promoten van kinderrechten, met kinderen als changemakers. Met de oprichting van The Youngsters ondersteunt KidsRights de winnaars van de Internationale Kindervredesprijs die voor verandering strijden. KidsRights ondersteunt en stimuleert hun persoonlijke ontwikkeling als changemakers, verbetert hun leiderschapskwaliteiten en kennis, en stimuleert lokale initiatieven op het gebied van changemaking. KidsRights biedt The Youngsters de gelegenheid om de mogelijkheden van een uniek en door de jongeren zelf geleid platform voor beleidsbeïnvloeding optimaal te benutten. Dit platform moet worden beschouwd als een unieke autoriteit die het belang van kinderrechten wereldwijd onder de aandacht kan brengen bij wereldleiders, overheden, vaders, moeders, broers en zussen.
