CLASSY, SEXY AND THEY ROCK!
The Rich and Famous are the STARCHILD creation of Jeff and Cliff Hoad, two brothers most people would be familiar with from the Australian hard rock band 'Kings Of The Sun'. Formed in 2002, The Rich and Famous was created as a reaction to what Jeffrey Hoad described as 'faceless fodder', the state of the music scene at that time was enduring an extended period of unparralled blandness.
KOTS achieved a great measure of success internationally touring extensively throughout the U.S and most the world for some six years. The band released three major label albums and numerous chart topping singles as Kings Of The Sun, touring with such heavy weights as KISS through out the United States and Europe and other major acts such as Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, Guns N Roses, Sammy Hagar and Jimmy Barnes. Jeff and Cliff both took a break from the music business and perused their individual interests.
While music was entering its serious flannel shirt dull-zone through the late 90s, the brothers were plotting their retaliation. With the arrival of 2002 enter, “Energy Fun and Entertainment" the roots on which The Rich and Famous were conceived. With Bass player/artist Dean Turner their plan is to rub your face in all the dirt, sleaze, and glitz n glamour of true Australian rock n roll.
With the worlds absurd obsession with money and fame they chose their name carefully. Living by the motto "if you can’t beat em rock em!” they have been tearing up live shows throughout Australia and have released three albums.
