When Shelley Duvall had passed away, I immediately rented a bunch of Robert Altman movies that she was in, including 3 Women. While I wasn’t a huge fan of most of them (you either dig Altman’s filmmaking style or don’t), it was great to see her in those works and they helped me appreciate her as an actor far more than I had before. May she be missed but never forgotten.

Popeye is an underrated masterpiece of physical comedy. Robin Williams and Shelly Duval present a masterclass in Chaplinesque/Max Linder-style bouffon/clown performance. An artform that is no more (John Ritter was the last. Rowan Atkinson maybe comes close today).
