If your things are not working in your business, sometimes all you need is a little bit restructuring !!!
About 6–8 years ago, I was into all kinds of China importation/procurement without any clear structure or clarity on how I could scale or automate things. I was overwhelmed and didn’t know what to do.
Even though I was making money, I was struggling. When I had my first baby in 2019, I was still taking orders while in labor! I couldn’t even put my phone down. Work consumed me so much that I had no time for anything else.
I had stores in Balogun Market, and it was a wild experience. Doing business in Nigeria isn’t for the faint-hearted—I saw it all. From employees stealing to business partners betraying me. Some people in Balogun market still owe me money till date. I’d send them goods from China to sell for me, and they’d give me half the money while claiming the rest of the goods were unsold. Since I wasn’t in Nigeria, I had no way to confirm their stories, and I kept believing them.
That’s how I kept making and losing money. But everything changed after I attended @dominateinbusiness. I finally realized that selling physical goods in Nigeria wasn’t for me, especially since I live far away. The time difference alone was draining—I’d finish dealing with daily procurement waka in China, then start handling issues in Nigeria.
I knew I needed a change, so I switched to selling in the U.S. market through Amazon FBA. Later, TikTok Shop came along, and it was the icing on the cake. Now, I have so much more time for myself and my family. No staff problems, no theft, no headaches.
Today, I live a simpler life and share the knowledge I have from living and doing business in China for so long. Sometimes, all you need is clarity to restructure your business and figure out what works and what doesn’t.
I love the life I have now. It might not be perfect, but we’re getting there.
