Ride with Gabi

I just received a tragic news. :( Yesterday, 20th February, Shiva sadly passed away, in the lobby of his hotel, due to a heart attack.

It's so hard to believe it. Really hard. And it's also hard to describe in words the energy and the beautiful heart of this man.

I just spent few days with Shiva in October 2022, but that short time was enough to have a beautiful impact in my life.

Everyday he would recommend me a place to visit around Rishikesh:

"Gabi, Today go to Vasisthta Cave Ashram, it's very peaceful and there is a beautiful spiritual energy there. It's good for you."

I would go in the morning and come back in the evening, sharing the experience with him, on his sofa in the lobby, while drinking Masala chai.

One day he told me:

"You should take the motorbike and go to Gangotri, in the Himalaya. it's a very special place. If I didn't have to work I would go with you."

The morning after, I took my motorbike and I went.

It has been one of the best experiences of my life. And he knew it. That's why He sent me there.

When I came back to his guesthouse, after 3 days, I couldn't wait to tell him how wonderful it was!

But when we sit on the sofa, I couldn't find the words. I kept saying " Wow. Wow. Amazing. Amazing. Incredible. Incredible." lol

It was beyond words. And I still remember the smile he had under his mustache.

He knew it.

there was not need to use words. He knew what I had just experienced.

You can watch the Himalaya video here: https://youtu.be/58nsXV_JgeE

At the beginning of the video you will see Shiva offering me HIS OWN breakfast in the morning, before leaving to the Himalaya. He was about to eat those eggs, and when he saw me coming out of the room, he gave them to me!

Unbelievable.

Meeting Shiva has been the highlight of my trip in India. Without any doubt.

I was planning to visit him again this summer. But I simply can't believe that if I go back there I will not find him anymore. It's heart breaking.

Thank you brother Shiva for everything. I can't hug you anymore, but I will keep you in my heart forever. 🤍🤍🤍

Much Love.

Oh no! He was so sweet and kind in your video. I even made a note of his hostel in case I get the chance to go to that area the next time I’m in India. I hope his family is taking this as well as possible. Shiva will be remembered by so many! What a great impression he made in only a few clips!🙏

I’m so sorry to hear this, the Himalayan video was possibly my favorite of your videos, it was incredible and emotional I felt like I was there myself. The best part about these journeys is meeting wonderful people like Shiva. He was clearly such a kind and bright hearted person. I can relate to the spiritual journey you feel on a solo motorbike trip, as I have done a few myself around Thailand and feel something spiritual and empowering about doing it alone but meeting people along the way. I want to do the same journey that you did in the Himalayas one day. So I will carry forward his message and one day I will go to the Vasishta Cave Ashram and Gangotri and will think of him and give thanks 🙏

I couldn't believe the moment I saw shiva in your vlog gabi. There was something in him that I can't explain. His energy is something that can definitely change your whole mood. I was not feeling well the night I found your channel Gabi, I watched all your India series and when I saw shiva, it feels like I was blessed with something I can't see but I can feel. Shiva is really something as he recommended places for you to go that are peaceful and extraordinary and good for the soul. I feel heartbroken now after knowing he passed away. Your vlog with shiva healed me in a way I can't explain. May you rest in peace Shiva. Thank you! 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊

I had trip to rishikesh in December. I stayed in Lakshman Grand hotel after referring to your video. Shiva was absolutely wonderful host with genuine and good suggestions to visit local places. He was talking about you as well. So shocked to hear the news.

Oh nooo! This is too sad. So sorry Gabi for the loss of your great friend. You have spoken such heartfelt emotions and love for this man whom you met on a trip and knew for a short while. What an incredibly wonderful human you are for opening your heart to Shiva. I love your videos and your love for humanity. I salute you and I salute Shiva for being a wonderful kind soul.

Such sad news Gabi. I can sense the emotional trauma in your message. That was the first of your videos I watched and led on to the Himalaya road trip and many others since. It was the vibe of your time in Rishikesh, guided and nurtured by Shiva, that made me subscribe to your channel. My aim is to travel in India later this year, and I intended to stay with Shiva! So I am also sad, even though I have never him. For his family and friends, including you, it is a tragic loss. Best to remember the joy he brought and to know his spirit flows on in the eternal river.
