I like having different hangers for different garments: padded for knits, shaped for jackets, nonslip for items that would otherwise slip off, etc. A consistent look is pretty, but function is more important for hangers.

I find matching hangers very pleasing to the eye and make my closet more harmonious.

I find it doesn’t make a huge difference to me. What I’ve liked more is having color-coordinated hangers by category, and that all the hangers are the same type (for me, thin and anti-slip). So all my tops are on one color hanger, skirts one color, etc.

Today is my birthday and my new hangers just got delivered! 😁 My mom was teasing me, what do you want for Christmas, thumb tacks? I got moon shaped hangers (to reduce shoulder bumps) in velvet, as well as some open type pant hangers, and a stainless steel version of "magic" type cascading hanging bars to see if they save space

A hundred percent worth it to me, at least in the closet that holds my "workwear" capsule. It helps me "see" and "experience" those clothes in a more positive and pleasurable light. Other closets in my house have a mismatched collection of hangers, but those are the out-of-season clothes, the very bulky coats and ski jackets, and formal occasion gowns that I look at much less frequently.
