What’s your biggest retirement savings goal?

@cjmhall

Saving as much as possible before AI takes my job and I'm too old to be hired anywhere else.

FI as soon as possible. No plans to RE, although dialing back to semi-retirement in my 50s. Building generational wealth and creating a private family foundation for charitable giving are concurrent secondary goals.

I never want to retire. Will work till I drop dead. I work diligently on my body to make sure I am capable of working for a long time to come. I want to leave enough behind for my loved ones to have a better life than I have had.

Catching up on lost time. Hoping to last ten to fifteen more years, but my body and tolerance for the work environment is fading fast. 53 years old this year.

@missyyy-

I’m fine with retiring at the usual age with a comfortable cushion.

Staying above ground and above room temperature.

All of the above sort of except for retiring at traditional retirement age. I want to be able to drop to part-time work at age 60 if possible, so a little early but maybe not fully retire for a few more years. I think a taste of freedom early without the abrupt end to work might be an easier transition.
