Budget Girl

I didn’t decorate for Christmas this year. Every time a rare, free moment came up, I just didn’t feel like it and chose to rest or do other things instead. I’ve been exhausted. The plate has been too full this whole fourth quarter of the year/ year and BG is far to the wayside. I miss it and I’ll be back at some point when I feel like I can breathe again and have something helpful to say.

In the interim, not decorating has been a lovely thing to not have to do - or think about undoing after next week. Jacob and I don’t have kids, so we can pass on having to create magic without guilt, which is great. We’re still doing gifts for each other, and one was a little photoshoot of the dogs in a little sleigh, which we’re excited about. We’ll open gifts and do a little trip up to DFW and I’m so glad our holidays don’t have to look like any one thing to be enjoyed thoroughly.

Personal finance is personal and should be customized to what you want and need and that same theory can be applied to so many things. This year I needed rest, no pressure…and a smaller tree for the new smaller house which I’ll be on the look out for on sale before next year. Happy, restful holidays to all. Don’t let anyone, including yourself, pressure you into doing anything that won’t bring you joy. #minimalchristmas #peace
