Did you know that Jacob and I collect stained glass? I started picking up a few pieces about 8 years ago from garage sales and thrift stores - always a little heartbroken that such gorgeous and time-intensive pieces of art were without homes.
We collect very strategically, only getting pieces that we love and are in the motifs we appreciate, and I love looking for cool pieces in antique shops when we travel. Weirdly I don’t mind if a piece has a couple cracks, I can seal them and I think it adds to their story and history.
In this new duplex I finally have some windows where I can display my little collection and I love looking at it every day.
I think collecting should be slow, with great intent and done over a lifetime.
