As of May 31, 2024, I will be implementing an automated 'Content ID' detection software for my library of music to protect its safe usage and to stop others from fraudulently claiming copyright on YouTube videos that use my music.
This means that things will REMAIN THE SAME for those who use my music here on YouTube:
- A simple credit of “Music by Karl Casey”, “Music by White Bat Audio” or tagging my YouTube channel @whitebataudio in the video description is enough. - The credit MUST be in the video description as the content ID software detects text in the description only. - This content ID system is for YouTube ONLY. - It will ONLY make a copyright claim, NOT a copyright strike. Your channel will not be in any danger of strikes. - if you haven’t credited me and need to do so, here is how to edit multiple video descriptions at once:
BULK UPDATE VIDEO DESCRIPTIONS If you need to update a lot of videos, in YouTube Studio follow these steps. 1. Open Content Tab 2. Select videos you want to update (or select all) 3. Click Edit > Description 4. Select where you want it to be added to (Insert at end for example) 5. Add text 6. Click 'Update Videos
If credit is not given properly, then you will likely receive a copyright claim.
If you receive a copyright claim when using my music and you're sure that you've credited me correctly in the description, you can simply fill out this form and the claim will be removed/dealt with very quickly: forms.gle/X5QvKPN1YEx7eiKV7
Once you've filled out the above form, you can dispute the claim on YouTube and it will be dropped.
Or, if we had previously set up an agreement where credit couldn’t be placed in the video description for a specific reason, then simply reach out to me via email (karl@whitebataudio.com) and I can personally whitelist your video/channel so you will not be affected.
I want my music to be an accessible and trustworthy source of free-to-use music, so I am excited to be able to protect my work while offering you all a solid, reliable music library that won’t be hit with fraudulent copyright claims from others.
