if yall can’t afford to give us a remaster (ik yall can) then just give us a re release. for daft punk to champion human creativity and then for the management to use ai to upscale a good movie is completely absurd. not only is it bad, it looks like shit. i won’t be supporting this “remaster” otherwise

Saw it in the theaters last night. The weird AI shit was everywhere it ruined so much detail. It was so bad ! characters would just turn into blobs for frames

Is this still AI slop? If so, I'll pass. Give life back to music.

I saw it last night, I was incredibly disappointed... It seems like the only "remastering" that was done is to just feed it through an AI upscaler. It distorted so much of the movie, totally distracting the entire way through. It was to the point where some of the text on some signs were completely unreadable.

ugh AI was ugly. In the theater we all complained about it, it looks terrible. And it's completely against the movie's themes, hypocritical.

I did definitely notice the AI upscale in the cinema, but it's still better than a low res old version. I think the argument for human creativity is not that strong when it's an existing work. I did wish they did a little (more) manual processing after the upscale. For example: there were some screens in the background showing the band where they were unrecognisable because the AI didn't have enough pixels to form shapes, that could've easily been solved with a copy of another scene.

I like the fact that the human side they are serious and don't have the soft happy vibe while the alien side they are happy and excited as a way to show that as their true selves, they play music at their own will and are happy while as their human selves, they play music against their own will and are depressed and defensive and negative

This post was... 3 WEEKS AGO??!! Wow... This means that Daft Punk's legacy will never end.

Was fun to see in theaters but would have liked a more hands-on remaster job. I know it's a low quality master but AI just doesn't work for remastering, ever. I had the same idea years ago when Waifu2x was the popular upscaler for 2D art and it kinda looks exactly like that's what was done. Should have just been the best stock quality possible with maybe some light denoise and good deinterlacing. AI upscaling made the movie look "wet" and drippy.

So if anyone is wondering, the best way to describe this remaster is if they just smoothed out the original visuals and called it a day. So small things like mouths, eyes, backgrounds, and visuals that didn’t have a lot of detail looked like a coat of vaseline was put on and move around to give it a clean line but in doing so a lot of small details like I mentioned were lost or worse warped into a blob

AI slop, you should be ashamed of yourself. I used to love Daft Punk, but now I don’t know. This is spitting in the face of the legacy.
