There's no way to compare the Masterpiece Animals who has Incredivle and Dantastic songs with only a good album like the Crimson one. I recommend to listen the 2018 Remix and specially the Blu Ray edition with a Perfect Sound! It's like it would have been printed today and not in 1977! 👍

I like that both albums are really good, but it’s hard to say that they’re the best album released in the year they were released (1977 and 1969) In 1977, there were the punk/new wave albums, Rumours by Fleetwood Mac, Out Of The Blue by ELO and so many others. While in 1969, there was Abbey Road, Let It Bleed, Tommy and also so many others. Both years are great for music, a few of the best I would say. But anyways, I voted for Animals, but I also love In The Court Of The Crimson King

although I'm a big Pink Floyd fan I prefer King Crimson. Animals is probably Pink Floyd's prog album par excellence and also excellent prog but in my opinion it is not at the level of King Crimson. Of Animals I only prefer Dogs, I can't listen to the other songs for the vocals, while in ITCOTCK I love all 5 tracks.
