Sam Synthis

Hey. If you're at all interested in more music from me please read this.

I've been heavily thinking about how I want to move forward on YouTube, being that it's just about the only platform I have left (I cleared out most of my social media to be less distracted). I think I've come to the conclusion that I want to just start uploading almost anything here, even if it's not the same quality you're used to with my full songs.

I was thinking I could either upload short songs I call "doodles" as normal videos, or as Shorts. Alternatively I could just make a second channel, but that seems unnecessary. I know Shorts can be annoying, but they make it easy to tell the difference between an actual song and me messing around for fun.

Let me know what you think.

@samsynthis

Thanks for the comments everyone. I personally don't like Shorts, but I thought it might be an easier way to tell when I've put out a "real" song vs a song doodle. You've reminded me how obnoxious it is to actually interact with Shorts in a meaningful way, and that most are adding the songs into a playlist which is far easier with a normal song. I think I'll stick with normal videos and just do something like [Doodle] in the title. Thanks for the input!

To be fair, I'd want you to do what is best for you. I absolutely truly love and resonate with each and every one of your songs. I truly appreciate all of your music and all that you do.

Bro, I don't speak English, I'm from Chile, but man, your music is the best, the vocals, the electro touch is the best, whatever you do now, feel proud, you are a great composer, I will be waiting for more of your songs from here to the end, good luck ❤️❤️

The only time I've watched shorts related to music are for little how-to's & tips for music production. But I can see how those require more video editing to showcase steps involved and is less about just sharing music. I've been watching a channel called AZALI and they've been doing short form music for a while but entirely in normal videos. Maybe that fits the type of stuff you want to upload. In any case im happy to hear you still want to make stuff, I think your music is really unique and it's a style I really vibe with, which is why I still listen this many years later. I'm excited to hear whatever you do next even if it isn't full songs.

I am personally not a fan of shorts and definitely not for music. You cant easily change the sound or go back on pc. I also don't mind listing to short songs or sounds in a playlist when I am working and that just doesn't work with shorts. But that's just how I consume YouTube ^^. Glad to hear that your still making stuff I really enjoy your music have a good day ^^

If you have a lot of great ideas for small songs posted as shorts, i think you should make them as shorts if they wouldn't be made otherwise. It will probably be a burden of relief to get it out of your head, and put you ahead with your other work aswell. You, and your talent for sound is highly appreciated!

I'd rather it be a 30 second video that I can out into a playlist and chill to at any point that try to find a specific short again because I've got an ear worm for one of the short songs you made but ultimately, whatever is easiest for you to do since shorts are usually promoted more nowadays

I just sort anything you make into my own playlists so I’m excited for anything and everything. 💜

I'm not sure what's the "It's your channel upload whatever you want to share with us", but I take it is the first option If people don't like it's easy to "skip" those videos, I personally don't mind and something might caught my attention, who knows What I do know is your subs know you and how great artist you are, share anything you'd like to share and write a song only when you feel like it.

@lostlightgaming

I suggest you do what's best for you, if you want quality in videos and shorts to sample or other things then do that. <3

Hmmmm tbf both can work out depending on the doodle's length and such. Regardless I'm sure most will enjoy whatever you decide with in the end so c:

I'm not really a fan of shorts, the format itself is annoying. A suggestion would be to add a little distinction in the title, for example, [Doodle]. However, do what is best/the most enjoyable for you. I've loved your music for years, keep up the good work!

@Shadowtrot

The UI/UX for shorts is just straight annoying to me, both on desktop and mobile. I could care less about aspect ratio but I can't scrub, change volume, add to playlists, etc. on shorts. It makes them awful for anything other than quick updates or meaningless mild entertainment when I'm bored. You do you and deal with the algorithm how you want, but imo videos with a label in the title just work better.
