Your photos and post brought to mind a poem that I wrote 12 years ago for my friend's wedding and I felt led to share it as I wish the same for you two: “May Your Love Be” - A poetic prayer May your love be candlelight: A glow that illuminates, dazzles and guides A warm haven that carries And rejuvenates you May your love be shelter: A rock, a tower, A strength you lean on all your lives. May your love inspire Strangers and children, Young men and old women; Let them all remark At this love that’s been woven With precision so perfect They know it must be God. May your love be fresh water; a reflection of Christ’s love Flowing freely and abundantly, constantly in motion, reaching heights and depths unimaginable. May it nourish the flowers that you plant on this earth and grow beauty beyond amazement. May you wake every morning of your married lives and know it must be God. May your love be your shade; A sweet miracle God gave you For your patience. May you hold it like a treasure, May you value it more than money. And as you travel your path, These windy trails of life laid out before you, May your love be companionship To levels that even you cannot fathom So that when you look back on years spent On passion, on laughter, On favour, on enlightment, You will not utter the words “May our love be” For you will know Your love IS and has been; And you will know It was God. 💜🙏
