@robertsmithson9100

It's ironic how one episode features almost none of the Doctor and the other features only the Doctor

I just rewatched heaven sent and it really shows how good capaldi is as a actor

It's Heaven Sent and it's not even close. Blink is good, but Heaven Sent is an absolute masterpiece in all aspects; music, narrative, and emotional impact.

@kinnexion

Come on! How is this even a debate?? Heaven Sent is one of the greatest episodes in tv history. It’s the perfect episode. The writing is literally flawless

Heaven Sent is a masterpiece of writing and acting and set design. As a professional writer, it is one of the best written episodes of television, ever. But I still have so much more fun watching Blink.

Blink is one of the most useful and important episodes of Doctor Who. It's the episode you show someone who hasn't seen the show when you want them to get invested in watching the show. It doesn't rely on any deep lore or on-going story arcs from its season or the seasons around it, yet it perfectly encapsulates all the most important thematic, narrative, and stylistic elements of Doctor Who. It primes the new viewer to start watching any season premiere/new Doctor's debut. If you want someone on the fence about watching Doctor Who to start watching Doctor Who, you show them Blink. Every show needs a Blink style episode, and they rarely get around to making one.

@That_ChipmunkDude

They are both amazing and unbelievable, but I'll go for Heaven Sent.

@SerathDarklands

Blink is great. Heaven Sent is a masterpiece that only a few actors could have pulled off as well as Capaldi did.

Oh that is a torture question, they’re both on my favs list. But I’m gonna have to go for Heaven Sent. The music alone gets me to tears every single time

@veggiet2009

This is THE hardest choice. Both episodes are stellar, tippy top of the tippy top!

@charlierenwick3682

Blink is so good because it’s standalone so anyone can watch it without needing to see every other episode up to that point

@Tardisntimbits

Blink is fun, but come on... Heaven Sent is amazing!

I feel like 'Heaven Sent", as awesome as it is, is not able to stand alone as a story; it requires a lot of background to get the full "oomph" behind it. "Blink", on the other hand, is a one shot that can get even the most casual person into the world of Doctor Who. When an episode changes the perception of the reality around you...those are the ones that stick around. And maybe even haunt you. Respect to "Heaven Sent" and Capaldi's performance, but I'm picking "Blink".

Heaven Sent shows that one person alone can carry the story if the writing is strong.
