Welp, Mike's performance learning Pneuma made me want to play the drums. So I bought an electronic drum kit for the first time in my life at 36. I guess I have at least one vote.

I've been jammin thrash/ death metal drums since 91.. knew heel/ toe before it was a thing..lol..glad to see that there's somebody out there who's recognizing drummers and their talent..because we are the heart of the music and the least appreciated..

This is a hard call, the beauty of music is the interpretation, for some the performances or the techniques. I'd say hand down Jorge, el Estepario. The man can play anything, with such a fantasy in it, ease. I Don't know, I just enjoy them all.

The metal category is weak AF. Might be time for a new category with extreme metal drummers that actually advance the technical and creative aspects of the genre/instrument rather than who sold the most shirts in Hot Topic.
