It’s Mid-Autumn Festival today. 🌕🥮 It’s the 2nd most important holiday of the year with Lunar New Year being the 1st. Equivalent to Thanksgiving — love ones gather for dinner and mooncakes while gazing at the moon. One of the traditional fillings in the cake is Lotus paste with a preserved whole egg yolk in the center representing the moon. The harvesting of crops is the 2nd reason why this day is celebrated. Usually, after this day fall season comes very close. I’m saddened by the days getting shorter and nights longer. I guess a break from the heat isn’t so bad…as you can see in the 2nd photo. 😆 I was sweating under the Áo dài (Vietnamese dress) at 8AM.
