I imagine most of you are wondering about the persistent radio silence on our end regarding the production. Just getting it out of the way, the production is not in jeopardy, we will certainly be finishing the film. We have, however been hit with numerous setbacks during post-production, most notably VFX. This has made our goal of hitting our December deadline impossible, as well as making it difficult to keep you all fully informed as to what has been happening.
Early into post-production we partnered up with a company to take on our VFX duties, going out of pocket to secure financing for their inclusion. Negotiating our initial bid cost us a number of months, leaving production in limbo for some time. Once work began, the relationship progressively deteriorated, with us becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the partnership. We are now dealing with an ongoing separation negotiation, which, given the sensitive nature of the circumstances, I'm unable to go into detail on. (Hence why I've been hesitant to give a public statement of any kind up to this point)
This affair has unfortunately cost us almost the entire year, and required us to rebuild our VFX team from the ground up in order to finish the film. The good news is that we've built a strong ad-hoc VFX department that are well on their way to finishing the film and ensuring it's up to our standards.
We are now projecting for a Q1 2024 release window, and we'll keep you posted once we have material available to show you guys.
