(The song in this chapter is the only one in the story that is not by composer Jimmy Van Heusen and lyricist Sammy Cahn, that in particular being the 1982 pop song Even The Nights Are Better originally by the band Air Supply. Also hoping to finish this story before I begin Fena: Furtherance on November 6 and I’ll try not to rush through even by a lot and do my best to catch up. Several more chapters (and a few more musical songs after this chapter) are still up, so by then I hope to finish this story on a great note, otherwise I might postpone Fena: Furtherance by a day or so, but hopefully I’ll make it by then. Enjoy!)

Waking up the next morning despite not sleeping for long due to coming back to the hotel late at night, Akira and Eiko still go about their morning, not too exhausted but still weary after the long night.
Happy they’ve met Masaki, Live and the others yesterday, Akira and Eiko plan to go around a bit before heading over to Banpai Manor later on.
Getting out of the hotel after starting the day (with Eiko wearing a different outfit), both Akira and Eiko make their way to meet up with the latter’s friend Nanami as well as Lily.
Eiko Tsukimi: “Can’t believe we had five to six hours of sleep today…”
Akira: “Yeah, we only have about a day left in our vacation until we come back home, so we might as well make the best of it.”
At 8:58 AM, they begin to head off around Shibuya as they eventually met up with Nanami and Lily soon after, the latter who had been staying at a different hotel in the meantime.
And at around 9:34 AM, they were exploring Shibuya Crossing again as the morning continued, the sky becoming more and more daytime as time passes.
Lily Hoshina: “I don’t usually wake up this early, but thanks for having me tag along. Especially after meeting Masaki, Live and those other vampires.”
Nanami Kuon: “I might’ve gotten only a few hours of sleep too. Not sure what Live and the others’ sleep schedule is since they’re nocturnal besides Masaki.”
In the meantime, Akira and Eiko stopped as they looked at the morning sky, as well as the sunrise despite that there were some buildings blocking it.
Akira: “Would you look at that sky?”
Eiko Tsukimi: “Mornings like this are so beautiful…”
After saying this, she soon began singing another song together (which happened to be a famous one from the 80s this time).
Eiko Tsukimi: “I… I was the lonely one… Wondering what went wrong… Why love had gone…and left me lonely, I… I was so confused… Feeling like I just been used… Then you came…to me…and my loneliness left me…”
“I used to think I was tied to a heartache, That was the heartbreak but now that I found you… Even the nights are better… Now that we’re here together… Even the nights are better since I found you… Even the days are brighter… When someone you love’s beside ya… Even the nights are better since I found you…”
While Eiko was singing this, Akira blushes as she listened to her girlfriend’s beautiful singing, before she too soon joins in as the chorus ends.
Akira: “You… You knew just what to do… ‘Cause you have been lonely too… And you’ve shown…me how…to ease the pain, And you…did more than mend a broken heart… ‘Cause now you’ve made a fire start… And I… I can see…that you feel the same way…”
After singing the next verse, Akira walks over to Eiko during the ballad as Akira wraps her arms around Eiko’s back while the latter caresses the former’s cheek while wrapping her arms around her neck.
Akira and Eiko Tsukimi: “I never dreamed there’d be someone to hold me, Until you told me and now that I found you… Even the nights are better, now that we’re here together, Even the nights are better since I found you… Even the days are brighter, when someone you love’s beside ya, Even the nights are better since I found you…”
By that point, Akira and Eiko danced together, pressing their foreheads lovingly. And when the song finally ends, they both had the perfect opportunity to lock lips.
Nanami and Lily watched happily as Akira and Eiko enjoying their kiss, the former happy to see her fellow singer friend fall in love with her samurai girlfriend.
Nanami Kuon: “I feel so happy for them.”
Lily Hoshina: “You think? That’s something you don’t see every day. I respect that.”
