Recently, there have been many accidents in the mountains of Japan since 2022. As a content creator( how I wish I get to call my self that ) about hiking in Japan, I think I’m responsible of reminding my fellow hikers to always take extra precautions.
Extra reminders:
1.) Check the Weather 🌤️ ( Never risk going out on a bad weather ) 2.) Clothing ( Warm layers and hard shell to keep you dry ) 3.) Shelter ( + emergency shelter for day hikers ) 4.) Food & Water ( Extra 1 or 2 days worth of food and water ) 5.) Lighting ( headlamps ) 6.) Phone and Extra battery ( + GPS and Satellite Phone ) 7.) Navigation ( maps and compasses ) 8.) Itinerary sent to love ones. 9.) Helmet 🪖 and harness for dangerous hikes 10.) Always Assess your skill, level of experience and stamina ( Never overestimate yourself about these things )
There’s more! I might have missed a lot of things here but I believe there are a lot of hiking guides and hiking 101 on Youtube so please check them out.
Friendly advice:
This is what I do when I hike alone, I’d like to share it with you.
Be positive when planning, be negative after packing and preparations, be positive in the mountains and never give up ( always find ways to survive ).
