We used to have multiple BBS nodes in Central VA. Now everyone is on Winlink and I think that that the transition has cost the radio community both flexibility and refundancy. I know that I should setup a software BBS nodes but work and living constantly get in the way.

Just started studying for my general and ordered a Yaesu Ft-891. Was leaning towards the ft-857 but buying a used potentially lifesaving tool makes me uneasy. If I had more $ I’d just buy a couple and keep one for parts but oh well. Can’t wait to get started with emcomm tools. Thanks for all you do and hope you’re enjoying your Sunday.

that's awesome. I'm setting up a node here 30 miles south of boston. Just on a kpc3 but that front end is sick.

Mirroring this on my node as a first application. Bit of a nightmare setting up custom applications on LinBPQ with output muted over telnet. Still trying to figure why.

Good job, Gaston. Are there plans to connect it to for instance telnet for interested people who are out of range? 73's de PD1XAN.

The Tech Prepper
TTP R&D...
NOAA Space Weather information is now a custom application on my RF-only BBS.
Users within 100 miles of my station (TTPBBS) can now get information impacting HF communication.
Back to solving more off-grid comms problems.
