Sal, great update. This one is actually carrying solar salt.. used for water softener and not to treat the roads

When I watched your video, I guessed that she had probably ruptured her hull and taken on a lot of water when she grounded, based on the starboard list. Since she was starboard of the channel, you’d expect her to list to port if the list was just a result of her sitting on the bottom (since the deeper water would be closer to the channel and thus her starboard side would be the side that was aground). The list away from the channel is a result of her hull being damaged on that side and flooding asymmetrically.

Sad to see. I sailed as 2nd officer in 2022 on the same vessel and signed off from Port Fairless Hills. Engine failure could be a reason, though I can't say it surely. Same route loading salt from Inagua Bahamas and discharging in US East Coast.

For a 25 year old vessel if indeed multiple ballast and fuel tanks are ruptured, it will be an expensive dry dock or maybe a write off from the hull.

I always wonder, the River isn't deep enough for these Ocean Boats.

Sal, please talk about the king point ring knocker problems at msc, as well....that turns a lot of people away from MSC.

Can you talk about the demographics of the industry? Is a younger age group taking up the reigns? And what is the impact of autonomous ships in the industry, if any?

Off topic.I have a question ❓ sal could have the fire boats from LA port help the The firefighters in California to replenish tanker trucks or pony trucks to fight the fires in the early hours of the fire.(As soon as they knew they had a water issue) I don't think they're that far away I'm just an east coast guy thinking out of the box and I was expecting to see video of them close to the beach

I don't understand WHY they think that dang ship is going to fit through the donut shop drive-thru. They JUST tried this a couple weeks ago and failed!

People are all concerned about the busted tanks, as if Red Hand doesn’t exist.

What is Going on With Shipping?
🚨Update on #AlgomaVerity:
1️⃣The ship grounded several times
2️⃣Several ballast tanks and empty fuel tanks are ruptured
3️⃣The ship may need to be offloaded before refloating🚨
