It's hard to forget those first steps, honestly. Watching Atlas develop over the years must've felt like a parent watching their kid grow up.

I still remember how I was (and still am) astonished to see Atlas do backflip and gainers with so much ease and fluidity. I can't wait to see the next get Boston Dynamics robots!

That dancing video blew me away, im studying robotics at university now second year, in no small part because of watching your videos when I was a kid, I remember eing in school looking at the weird 'google robots' as me and my freinds mistook them for as kids, on early youtube, before you blew up to the international prestige you hold now. Seeing that made me realise growing up that you guys were on the edge of turning a huge part of science fiction into our current reality and that's what ultimately made me decide to pursue getting into robotics so I can take part in making that happen. Its crazy how over my short life so far, you guys have made such exponential progress since the time i was looking at those weird youtube videos, that biometics have gone from a research niche to rapidly growing production lines. And im not even out of university yet. Seems I won't be part of the generation that ushers it in, but im honered to be part of the generation that gets to witness it happening and hopefully be ready to jump in on wherever its going next... If AI allows it. Absolutely love you guys, you're my heros, keep us posted! There plenty more kids to inspire.

My favorite memory is when atlas and I went on that road trip after a really tough breakup and just drove out into the desert and found a spot hidden away by some boulders. I got on atlas’s back and we climbed up the side of a rock face. We told each other things that we’ve never told anyone else and just looked up at the stars together that night.

Watching Atlas walk outside for the first time felt incredible, like the pivotal moment I realized we live in an age where we could see robots walking down the streets as an integral part of society. An age where I could walk down the street to go to work and see a machine doing the same thing is so surreal.

Diciamo che vederlo stare in piedi e vederlo camminare mi ha fatto un certo effetto! Vederlo poi fare evoluzioni chiaramente fa pensare! Tutto straordinario!

I remember cracking up when it opened the door and took a stroll outside. Great work 👍

12 years ago I got a tour of BD and saw the original atlas on its suspension rig and treadmill.

It cannot be understated how important getting semi-autonomous walking robots correct was. You can pre program only so much. It is many times more efficient for the bot to react to the environment as it perceives it.
