Should government be providing guaranteed income with no strings attached?

The less dependent I am on the government the more happy I’ll be.

The government should be reduced massively and people should be paid a fair wage, like it used to be when this country was at its best economically.

Giving everyone UBI would just raise the poverty line by the UBI amount.

If we can afford to send billions of dollars to help other countries, we can afford to help our own citizens at home.

When I was serving on active duty in the military, I was stationed in the middle of a country where the government provided a universal income. That country was the former DDR (East Germany) and I was stationed in Berlin, FRG. Remember kids, whatever government gives to a person it must first take it from another person. That means if you have a job you’re going to pay taxes for this universal income. What happens if everyone decides to not work, and pay taxes, to receive this universal income?

@elicallaway342

They already do, it's called a congressional salary and retirement

@full_auto_monk7112

We already do this. It's called congress. Let's let them vote another raise for themselves and watch them do nothing for the people. What a spectacle.
