TRIBUTE TO THE PERSON WHO REVIVED THE SPIRIT OF UNITY AMONGST INDIANS: Darshan Mondkar Dear Rahul Gandhi, Thank You. I have to say this and perhaps many like me would want to say it too. Over the last 10 years, most of us had given up hope.....a hope for a vibrant secular India. Most of us were looking at this country as a lost cause. I know many who have already fled to the western lands for a better life (and I don't blame them) At the same time, you were probably the most maligned person in India......a victim of the worst malicious campaign anyone could have ever seen. And yet, while we were fretting over our own state and the condition of our brethren, you did not give up. You walked across India, keeping your head high and inspired us to keep our chins up too. You endured the abuses, the curses and the attacks on you and your family, while keeping up your attempts to bring about a "Mohabbat Ki Dukaan" in every village, town, district that you walked through. If you hadn't got up and walked, I am quite sure, many of us might have never managed to raise our heads, much less our voice. Watching you standing with a straight spine, despite the brickbats which were thrown at you, gave me the courage to stand up and be counted. Today, despite not getting the majority, the juggernaut of the Mosha duo has been stopped. The evil falling short of a complete majority, in itself is quite an achievement and I would like to congratulate you for it. But a bigger congratulations is deserved for the way you helped me keep my spirit in tact. Today, I do believe, that India will survive. Today, I do believe, that India has a lot of people, amongst the masses, who want a secular democratic republic and not an autocratic religious "rashtra". Today, I do believe, that though the war is not over, this round of the battle has been won. We will stand up, we will fight back, and we will get our country back to what it was....a place where unity in diversity thrives. So once again, thank you, for keeping your faith....in yourself, in India and in 1000s of people like me. Thank you for not giving up and helping us not give up. Disclaimer: A huge thanks to all the people (including the political leaders) who stood by with a positive spirit. You are all a part of this success and I can't properly express how much I love you all 🤗🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️
