Why “Good Friday” is called as good? It was a day of betrayal, mocking, suffering, and death of Jesus and yet that day is called good? Christians call it good because through the suffering of Jesus and His death and resurrection, the penalty of our sin is paid and we have the victory over sin and death and hope of eternal life in heaven. Because of God’s deep love for us, He allowed His Son to be the sacrificial Lamb for mankind. Jesus, God Himself, came down from heaven, lived a sinless life, suffered and died on the cross for the penalty of our sins, so that we may be set free.
Jhn 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Jhn 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him
God showed us mercy and grace which we don’t deserve. We constantly rebel against Him, instead of seeking to live a godly life.
Jhn 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. Jhn 3:19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
Act 4:12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
God is holy, just and righteous!
