1. Xian, 2nd tier city with rich culture, since you like the noodle and dumpling, Xian is the paradise of the noodles and dumpling. 2. Kaifeng, Luoyang, 4th tier city with rich culture, since you are on budget travel, the living cost is affordable, laid-back city with diverse food. 3. Yunan, Lijiang, Shanga-rila, Dali, very famous due to the incredible scenery. 4. Guangxi, Yangshuo, very famouse due to the amazing landscape.

Highly recommend my hometown Xi’an (Hsian), we r one of the four ancient cities in the world, n one of the NEW Tier 1 cities in CN. With five thousand years of history and culture, 13 dynasties have been built there, plus, a foodie’s heaven! Tons of umami cuisines. Welcome to Changan! 常来常安

甘肃GanSu,鲜艳的玫瑰哪比得了风化的遗珠。每天都有新鲜的玫瑰绽放,而风化的遗珠,可能就是你这辈子最后一次的邂逅。

This channel has incredible potential. Despite their focus on just one city in China, they've managed to gain a substantial following and even attract attention from Chinese state media. Why? The key is they are being real. By showcasing that you can enjoy China on a budget, they’re challenging stereotypes and providing a refreshing perspective. It's a bit disappointing that their exploration was limited to only one city, which represents just a small fraction of the country. With more time and additional content covering other destinations, they could get like 200k subs easily, given the vastness and diversity of China. That said, their short 144-hour stay in China was a leap of faith, especially considering the often negative portrayal of the country in the media. As a Westerner venturing into such an environment, their bravery is commendable. If I were in a similar information bubble, I might not have the same courage to explore China.

Pick somewhere in the south. The lifestyle is very different from the north which was where you visited last time. Guangzhou has a lot to offer. Shenzhen on the other hand is a very new and future-looking place.
