Hi all. I was hoping to get some advice on how to deal with an issue in my area. My area is in the middle of a really severe housing/homelessness crisis; the local towns are working to increase our housing stock, but being California it's not easy. We of course have a lot of NIMBYs, but plenty of YIMBYs too. There's one particular strain of NIMBYism that I'm not quite sure how to counter. They claim that increasing the amount of housing won't bring rental prices down because it'll just attract more people and landlords charge whatever they want so don't build anything! The voices are few but loud. Where can I find solid numbers to refute this claim? TIA for any suggestions.

Strong Towns
Our latest video could have been its own full length documentary, but we've got tons of stories we also are equally excited to share coming down the pipeline (including one next week). One of the interviews I had with Dr. Berry of the Property Tax Project was so good that we thought it deserved its own extended video. This interview is a must-watch if you liked our video on regressive property tax assessments. Browse through, listen to, or watch at your leisure.
Cheers,
-Mike
