Doctor Who Shorts

I was out and about doing my shopping yesterday, and I walked past this son with his mum, maybe 7, the boy said "look mum! It's Doctor Who!" Pointing at a Doctor Who birthday card, the little things that make you realise Doctor Who is still a household name, it's still loved and talked about.

So all the negativity you see online is just that, hate carries further than positivity unfortunately, it's just the little things like hearing it on the street that makes you smile 😊

Thanks for the support Whovians ❤️

I watched the reboot through 12 and loved it when it first came out. Now rewatching those, and watching originals. My daughter gave me a TARDIS front license plate and a "Wibbly wobbly, timey wimey" frame for it for Christmas. I'm a 70 year old West Virginia hillbilly.

@Shazampool

I love this show so much it’s by far my favourite show of all time and always will be I just can’t stand the hate I’m so glad younger kids are liking Doctor Who and excited to see it the haters are not fans despite what they may say the fact they want to hate on the show for a casting decision when there is no problem with it whatsoever just proves they have cared about the show anyway Doctor Who is number one show forever and it will stay that way I love it so much

I went to Barnes and Noble yesterday, and they had both the season 2 and season 12 box sets, along with the series 13 dvd!! I live in a small town in the US so it was AMAZING to see them there!

I don't think people realize how much it's actually growing especially in the US. I got into it when David Tennant came back in The Power of the Doctor and since then I've seen more and more people getting into it

That's so lovely! I'm really enjoying the latest episodes of doctor who! I admit I lost interest a little during the chibnall era of the show just because I don't think the writing or the publicity was as strong as it had been! But it remains so iconic for me and I feel like the writing is getting stronger again and I'm loving ncuti's fifteenth doctor! Can't wait to see season 2! ❤️❤️🔷

I wish that I could find Doctor Who birthday cards. Card isles in American stores are so limited.

Out of curiosity, which Doctor was on the card?

Wonder how this will age, with the whole community shitting their pants (pardon my French) with worry, because they aren't sure on the future of the series, with RTD saying they are unsure.

Personally, I think a lot of the criticism is justifed but yes, it is nice to see its still well liked. I grew up watching the omnibuses in the nineties with my Dad, particuarly Four’s serials and to me Four will always be the definitive portryal, especially with the gothic style storyteling of Robert Holmes. That said, I liked Nine and Ten, I enjoyed Eleven (particuarly his first series) and loved what they tried to do with Twelve, especially at first. My two eras of the show are well and truly over. As is my era of culture in general, to be honest, so its no surprise that a show which moves with it will have now gone past me. I may be getting a little long in the tooth. If whatever it’s doing now is somebodies era, thats great. I have the old episodes. From a personal subjective point of view, however, I still think all the criticism the show now gets is justified and I’ll always be dissapointed that we never got another era like Four’s with modern camera work and effects, but there it is.

Yep well if people like chibnall and RTD who don't give a crap about the fans especially RTD who said it in a tweet, maybe if they weren't actively trying to kill the show with retcons woke and mavity b.s. then maybe the show would get the nice reviews it used to when the doctor was good

@cinnamontoastcrunch5665

You call it hate i call it criticism end of the day the show isn't a household name ask most people on the street who the current doctor is and i bet they don't know or say they stopped watching after matt smith Doctor Who at the moment is only really relevant among the fans that already care now i don't know if what you say is true to be honest id like to hope it is i want this show to really succeed but ultimately people have differing opinions on the current show and the direction its heading in but the fandom doing what it does best one-upmanship and trying fight political morale battles everyday over a tv show you're probably gonna disagree with everything i've just said because we live in a tribal world but don't just dismiss me and others as hate just because we look through different lenses than you.

I hope you shouted right loudly in his face ”LITTLE BOY I THINK YOU'LL FIND DOCTOR WHO IS THE NAME OF THE SHOW, NOT THE CHARACTER. CALLING THE CHARACTER DOCTOR WHO IS A CRIMINAL OFFENCE, PLEASE HAND IN ALL YOUR MERCHANDISE AND NEVER WATCH THE SHOW AGAIN!" The only sensible Reaction 😉
