The Closer Look

I've been working with a logo designer to make some new artwork for the channel. What do you think?

Something so simple as the typewriter font for the old logo just delivers the message of the channel to me. Talking about writing, films, and story telling

That new one can be repurposed as something else.

With the old logo, is much easier to pick it out of the countless ones in one's subscriptions feed compared to the new one.

The feather pen being an eye is such a smart idea. But you can’t beat the simple classics

Leave the old one but make the text smaller and put magnifying glass on top, so that it's a "closer look".

The new logo is a cool concept! From a design perspective, the older one is much easier on the eyes since it's well-spaced text. When I look at the new design, I see the eyeball, but don't know where to look next.

Classic Closer Look vs Biblically Accurate Closer Look

The eye-quill is so clever, I’m sad you even asked our opinion because we chose wrong. 😂

I studied graphic design for two years, and I think a different eye color, and a loss of the eye sparkle could help strengthen the design. Here's an idea. What would the eye look like with the pupil being white, and the ring being black? The goal is always simplification, with an emphasis at being able to read it at a far distance. Us humans are pretty decent at recognizing patterns, even in the barest of suggestions

Please do a video on how to write likeable side-characters, I’m currently in the middle of writing a novel and I feel like It would help

The old one is a classic, but the new ones fire too. Maybe merge them in a way that the change is not so drastic?

The idea of the new one is good but as others mentioned, too: The typewriter font is kinda important

I love the new logo design you've come up with, and it's much better for your channel branding-wise. I think it would be wise to go with the new design despite the current poll count..

One of the very very few new logos that surpasses the original. Well done

The old one is classic, but the new one is very well designed. It looks like some thought really went into designing it (or at least, way more than most logos these days 🤭). I like that you chose something different than the usual magnifying glass-eye combination. The quill is a nice touch. I do however want to point out that a quill motif does clash a smidge with the vibes of your previously established typewriter motif. Not by much, since they still clearly scan as variations on the theme of writing, but I just wanted to point out one potential reason why there might be a preference for one or the other. The old logo, like the typewriter, is traditional and predictably, while the new logo design and colour gives off a more artistic, free-flowing vibe. I think you should pick the one you think would suit your channel’s vibes the best. I voted in preference for the old logo, since I personally think it fits the analytical aspect of your channel better, but I would not be disappointed at all if you switched to the new one. If you end up keeping the old logo, you should definitely use the new one for something else. Perhaps you could incorporate it into a new banner? Maybe style your channel name like the round keys on a typewriter and have the new logo be a cool custom key? Just some ideas. :-

I’m a fan of the old one but I think the new one has a different style that just makes my brain happy
