i appreciated the light-hearted energy! plus the vibe i got was that this was more about the average american citizen than america as a global entity. yes, american citizens are part of that but sometimes it’s nice to just take a breather and remember that we’re all just people. do what you gotta do in terms of videos, many of us are happy to support you whether you make a deep dive, a total joke video, or anything in between 💕

Honestly I appreciated the slightly more lighthearted way you talked about the subject. I know you normally do more intense deep dives but personally I'm fine if you don't do that for every single video, expecially while you have a newborn.

girl you’re so good! getting used to the new routine takes time. i was delusional enough to think i could still work from home with an infant. lmao took me about four months to realize that it’s entirely impossible.

I feel like you were clear in the video that it wouldn't be a deep dive into the hard topics, so you did a great job! You're keeping a newborn alive, we're lucky to be getting any videos right now. You're doing great ❤

I thought you were speaking from a completely fair view point, not everything has to be deeply researched to be worthy of being discussed. Wishing you the best, I’m on the clouds-have-just-started-to-part side of postpartum myself and it tough stuff, anything you can do is a win.

Fully criticizing the terminally online weirdos who made you feel this post was even necessary.

Something I hated when I was a content creator was how people ask you to cover and agree with every viewpoint, nuance, etc. it’s not possible and unrealistic.

As someone who is usually really critical of Americans (I am one, although I don’t live there anymore), I really appreciated your video. It reminded me to be kinder and not so one-sided on the issue. I think your viewers are already aware of the negatives of Americans and don’t necessarily need to be reminded

I have the greatest respect for you Tiffany. It's tough to be both critical and balanced and you get it right more often than not. I'm Australian and the stereotypes of my people being ignorant buffoons gets to me sometimes, we're actually, mostly, a gentle people. But every nation, and sometimes a whole continent 😊 gets stereotyped. Tis the way of the world, sadly

I’m starting to get really annoyed at consumer’s entitlement about the content they consume. Stop demanding the content creator to conform to your ideas/vision by saying annoying things like: « You failed to mention », « You completely forgot », « You should have… ». Videos dont need to be 100% perfect all the time, and that’s what the comment section is there for : Creating conversations. Instead of adopting a tone of reproach, why not just say : « I would like to add », « To further what’s being said in the video », « To add my own grain of salt », etc. It allows for the point being made, a conversation to be had whilst not adding even more presssure on content creators to be perfect than they already are !

I actually liked that you talked about your time in France because I’ve been watching your channel for over 7 years, so I remember when you were a study abroad student in France and I loved how your channel was like a college student video diary back then!! Congrats on the baby and literally take all the time and rest you need!! <3

A lot of criticism americans get from other countries is horribly classist.

Please do not listen to these chronically online weirdos. I thought the video was fun from a different perspective, people can be very mean to your average American. At the end of the day, we're all people and understanding each other a bit more helps.

Well done on the video I thoroughly enjoyed it. Honestly people are gonna think what they think but no video essay is going to be completely perfect you can't please everybody. You absolutely did not have to explain yourself. You keep doing you ❤️

Bro nah thats stupid. You weren’t talking about americas ideological and cultural flaws. Its about others being like “ew haha americans like ice! Gross! Uncivilized!!!” IT WAS A LIGHT HEARTED VIDEO ABT PEOPLE BEING DUMB DUDE people gotta chill tf out

Honestly I didn't even watch the last video because I knew from the phrase "dunking on" that it was going to be lighthearted, and following the recent election results, I wasn't in the mood for that. So I can't speak to any of the criticism on the video, but GIRL. You're a brand new mom! Give yourself a bit of grace and room to breathe and adapt. Being a mom and also putting the same level of work into your videos that you did before you had a baby is not possible. You still need to take care of yourself first. You're doing everything you can, and that's already more than enough. Take as much time as you need to adjust.

Tiffany, you don’t need to cover every single angle and exception and caveat. People who chastise you for not doing so are just being controlling, because it’s an impossible requirement. A topic like this could be studied for a lifetime. As can most things you cover. Frankly I think it would improve your videos if you stopped trying to cover more than the timeframe and medium has room for. Maybe being a new mommy will help you go easier on yourself. :) We all go through that battle. Edit: I want to say I love the video. I live in an American city that is an international hub, and you hit so many pain points for me. I mean things I’ve had to educate folks on when they’re visiting the country. There’s a lot of foreign disinformation about Americans.

hi hi! wanted to let y'all know I have seen the feedback on my latest video and totally understand the calls for deeper analysis on this one.
This is the first video I've made since having my baby. We don't have childcare so I'm with her while my husband is at work, then we share the load of baby and everything else when he's home. I severely underestimated how hard it would be to find time (and mental energy) to research and write with a newborn! I thought I could 'just work when she naps' ... LMAO I wish.
This topic was one of my many partially-written scripts in the vault, and I thought it would be feasible to finish before my sponsor deadline. I hoped to make this lighthearted by focusing on ~silly cultural beef~ on social media (like who knows geography). Without time to adequately dig into the more serious angles about US power and influence, etc, I chose not to include those deeper issues in this episode.
But I hope you know, I agree 100% that the US is worthy of all the criticism! (& that's an understatement but again I barely have time to write this response right now)
Anyway, trying to work in this new era of parenthood has had a steep learning curve! Of course, I still want my future videos to meet my usual quality standards, so I hope y'all can be patient with me while I figure it out. Thank you!!
