It went from bigger updates are back to just "TF2 community we hear you" really quick

I'm glad they changed it and will actually temper the expectations of the community. But I think the worst part about this is that because they flubbed their one time communicating we're not gonna get any more communication for forever

I kept telling myself not to get my hopes up and it paid off. But, honestly, it still makes me sad

Literally what I have been saying since day one. This community gets hurt by valve and then forgets how it happened in a matter of months so that they can do it again.

The part that upsets me the most is how quiet they tried to be about it, just changing the wording rather than openly stating it with like another quick blog post is underhanded and feels like a slap to the face. No apology just "oops tee hee".

Kinda glad they did, to me it was pretty obvious that valve wasn't going to put much input there, so makes sense to get clear to the people who were expecting a major update

I mean, lets be real, this is still not bad. May not be full sized, but its been a while since we last had a holiday update too, so...

What a god damn shame, got into the game again and its sad to see this. Yet another year without a TF2 update, and still counting.

This is probably not that bad. We can still get Bug Fixes and Balance Changes. We can still get new weapons and new maps. Let TF2 be community driven but with organization. If valve becomes the Manager of these Updates and let's the community be the dev we can still have killer ass updates. We just need organization and quality control, that's it!

Rather have it pushed to July/August and have it be a full thing than to have a lackluster "Non Holiday Theme but just like a Holiday Update"

We kinda knew this with it being so close, I just hope the tf2 community doesn't flip out. One day we will seize control of an actual community made update, wether they want it or not we will not go gentle on this good night.

And of course no fixes against bots, only changing signatures (instead of actually fixing the game) which cheatmakers figure out in a matter of hours or days anyway...

i mean at least "community-contributed fixes" implies that at least one or two bugs will be fixed

BTW I need some help. I found a video that said a map would give you free items. I went to check it out and it's true but now idk if I'm gonna get banned although I googled it all I need is reassurance

*IMPORTANT UPDATE ABOUT TF2 SUMMER UPDATE*
Valve have now updated the blog post to remove both of the contentious phrases. "Full-on update-sized" and "who knows what else" have both been removed and replaced with "full-on holiday-sized" and "other community-contributed fixes". They are making it as clear as possible that they (Valve) will not be making content for this update, essentially confirming everything I tried to stress in my video. A shame, to be sure, but an expected one - www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=189493
