Emergency crews are searching for the body of a man believed to be the victim of a fatal shark attack in South Australia.
A 28-year-old man from Port Lincoln was surfing near Granites Beach, south of Streaky Bay on the Eyre Peninsula, when witnesses reported seeing a shark attack the man just after 7pm on Thursday.
Eyre and Western Police immediately responded and initiated a search with the assistance of State Emergency Service and local volunteers, but the man’s body is yet to be found.
The beach remains closed to the public and any witnesses are urged to provide their details to local police.
